With a 3 year background already in building and renovating work on properties, Mark came down to London from Cumbria when he was 19 years old and started working for Bartholomew Conservatories, one of the top bespoke hardwood conservatory companies. He then went on to work for another elite company Oak Leaf Conservatories and was asked to be their Contracts Manager, a job which he was very accomplished at however he missed being ‘on the tools’.
In the time that Mark worked for these companies, he was working on Conservatories and Orangeries both nationwide and abroad in Germany, Holland and the USA, including prestigious projects on Staten Island, New York.
Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Flower Show are opportunities for conservatory companies to show off their imagination and skills and produce ornate buildings to show that anything is possible in wood and glass, so Mark had the honour of fitting some of these buildings. Two examples of Oak Leaf Conservatories buildings that Mark fitted several times are below:-
