Rafter Cap Replacement

We often come across box gutters and valleys on conservatories which have been incorrectly formed or not catered for at all. If lead lined, the lead in a box gutter or valley expands and contracts with heat over time and if not fitted correctly this will lead to stress cracks forming in the lead and an entry point through which water will penetrate resulting in a leaky conservatory. We can deal with for you by removing the roof glass that falls into the gutter and/or valleys, re-forming and re-lining them appropriately and then re-fitting the roof glass.

Rotten Timber Repair & Replacement

For smaller areas of rotten timber we may be able to splice in new sections of hardwood which once decorated will look as good as new. For larger areas we can fit replacement panels and doors etc which because all our work is bespoke, will match in perfectly with the rest of the existing conservatory. See Wall Panel Replacement below.

Roof Ventilators

Roof Ventilators are an essential component of a conservatory roof allowing you to maintain an ambient temperature in your conservatory and a gentle air flow, without the need to always open windows and doors. These opening skylights can be set at various levels either manually by means of a telescopic winder and pole, or electrically at the press of a switch. We are also able to provide a discreet stylish Climate Control Panel which is thermostatically controlled with a rain sensor and also with manual override, so that you have complete control of the temperature in your conservatory.

Roof vents can be a weak point in a conservatory roof and cause leaks, a common problem we come across in our business. We find many conservatory companies either use off the shelf models which are unsuitable for timber conservatories or their own vent which may be a poor design. We have developed our own bespoke roof ventilator design which works faultlessly.

Lead Work & GRP Roofing

Box Gutter & Valley Repairs

We often come across box gutters and valleys on conservatories which have been incorrectly formed or not catered for at all. If lead lined, the lead in a box gutter or valley expands and contracts with heat over time and if not fitted correctly this will lead to stress cracks forming in the lead and an entry point through which water will penetrate resulting in a leaky conservatory. We can deal with this for you by removing the roof glass that falls into the gutter and/or valleys, re-forming and re-lining them appropriately and then re-fitting the roof glass.

Wall Panel Replacement

Because our work is bespoke we are able to match to any panel design or joinery detail. So if you have any individual rotten timber panels which are beyond splicing work, we can replace them with new hardwood wall panels so that they will blend in perfectly with the rest of your conservatory. Similarly, if your conservatory roof is in good order but the joinery on the wall sections has deteriorated badly, we can support your conservatory roof and fit all new hardwood wall sections, change the panel design and upgrading the conservatory’s specifications, as required.

Bi-Folding Doors

Sliding folding doors are a great way of modernising your conservatory and adding flexibility and individuality to your living space. They are perfect on hot sunny days or when entertaining, just fold the doors right back and maximise your living area, bringing the outside in. Our bi-folding doors are custom built to integrate perfectly with your existing conservatory design. The doors are also fitted with a high quality sliding door system so that the doors glide beautifully without a judder.

Conservatory Leak Repairs

There can be one or several reasons why a conservatory is leaking but it should not be endured or accepted as the norm for a conservatory. Also if left for a long period of time then a leaking conservatory can lead to more serious problems of deterioration of the conservatory timbers. Mark George is able to draw on his 30 years of experience of working on all makes of conservatory to locate and fix these problems for you. In the main, they are due to poor quality or inappropriate materials being used, a weak design detail or just general ‘wear and tear’. But the problem is usually solvable with a long term repair solution and never with a temporary fix of silicone!

Replacement Double Glazed Units

If your double glazed units have become misted up, it means that the airtight seal on the glass unit has failed allowing moisture into the unit. Not only does the ‘fogged’ up glass look unsightly but it has also lost its’ insulation value. Older double glazed units feature older types of sealant which over time can become brittle and crack. Glass sealant has improved vastly over the years, although many conservatory companies still use inappropriate sealant, particularly on South facing conservatory roofs. We ensure that we use the best type of glass sealant, the same that is used with architectural glass, to give our clients peace of mind. It may cost a little more but it is cheaper than having to replace slipped roof glass units just a few years down the line.
